How do I attach my Halcyon Explorer or Proteus light while wearing an Active Controlled Ballast (ACB) system?

In years past, when canister lights were much larger (and heavier), our high capacity weight systems offered a mount on the right side ACB pocket, which allowed for the attachment of the Pro series lights. At that time, the most popular lighting system was the Pro 14 Halogen (and later HID), a 5" diameter canister, 20 lb (9 kg) light. The new Explorer and Proteus lights are much smaller and  mount very easily to this attachment point. In general, canister diameter has shrunk significantly, and a redesign of the ACB attachment point makes a more streamlined belt-mounted position feasible.

In order to mount these smaller lights, simply slide your Explorer or Proteus light onto the right side of the waist belt and against your stainless steel or hard-coated aluminum back plate. Your light canister will then be followed by the right hand ACB pocket and affixed properly via the triglide and waist belt slot. Access is assured, and the ability to remove your light during a dive is maintained.
