Halcyon's
Explorer and Proteus lighting systems set the standard for underwater illumination.
HID, halogen, and HMI lamps can be matched with any application, while a wide
variety of canister/battery configurations allows you to dial in your system
to meet the demands of any diving environment:

Ballast o-ring seal

The Halcyon ballast housing is carefully machined to allow ample room for mounting screws and is 0-ring sealed, notably reducing the likelihood of water intrusion.

The competitor's rear ballast housing is roughly constructed with mounting holes that near (and sometimes may) penetrate the housing. In this case the competition does not use an o-ring seal.

Note: Close inspection reveals a bulge in the competitor's ballast housing; the mounting screws nearly penetrate the housing.

The competition's rough belt sander finish (above) is debatably relevant. However, divers investing thousands of dollars and relying on this equipment as life support might prefer greater attention to detail (below).

Light signals can be an important means of communication
because they work in a variety of situations and are especially
effective in gaining a team member's attention. In dark surroundings,
individuals can easily communicate with their lights over large
distances. Even in close quarters light signals may be preferable,
especially if divers are not facing one another. Many open water
divers are starting to realize how lights can simplify communication
and enrich a dive. Divers frequently use light signals over hand
signals because they are:
-
Easy to see
- More
efficient to use
- Effective
at much greater distances
