Halcyon Diver's Alert Markers

Diver Alert Marker

Yellow and Orange DAMs

Super Alert MarkerHalcyon's series of Diver Alert Markers provide maximum visibility and redundant flotation at the surface

Open water divers should always carry a marker buoy they can send up in the event of separation from buddy, primary group, or boat

Available in four sizes:

Small Alert Marker: 3.3' long, 6 lbs lift
Semi-Closed Alert Marker: 3.8’ long, 20 lbs lift
Big Alert Marker: 4.5' long, 40 lbs lift
Super Big Alert Marker: 6' long, 52 lbs lift
  • Halcyon Diver Alert Markers (except semi-closed model) feature closed-circuit (one-way valve) construction
  • Inflate at the surface to attract attention
  • Inflate at depth to send up as a surface marker
  • All markers are small enough when deflated to fit in a Halcyon thigh pocket or MC Storage Pak
  • Big and Super Big Alert Markers both come with Coast Guard approved SOLAS reflective tape across the top for improved visibility.
  • The Semi-Closed Alert Marker has a baffled open bottom for filling with a regulator’s second stage; all other Halcyon Divers Alert Markers feature closed-circuit (one-way valve) construction.

Our European customers have been requesting a safety-yellow variation of our Diver Alert Markers– it is common to expect or require both yellow and orange markers when diving off of a charter in some countries. In response, Halcyon is now making the small closed-circuit DAM in florescent yellow.

In addition to the yellow 3.3' dam, Halcyon is introducing a completely open circuit alert marker that will sell in a two-pack with one yellow and one orange marker.

Open Bottom Alert markers

The new markers are 4.5' (1.37m) long, are an open-bottom design (not baffled, like the semi-closed DAM).

DIR Tip 42
Attachment hardware should be attached with high quality line or wire ties so that it may be cut free should a clip become damaged and locked closed. While this risk of mechanism failure is greatly reduced with quality stainless steel hardware, avoid securing the attachment hardware directly to a tank or light canister with metal bands or bolts.
