Halcyon's Multifunction Compensator is a complete "doing it right" kit for every diving application. The MC's modular design allows you to modify your set-up to fit your dive. A complete MC includes a buoyancy wing and selections from the following list appropriate to local dive conditions:

Our latest creation? The Halcyon Eclipse wing. Think of it as Halcyon's original Pioneer single tanke wing gone to the gym. Halcyon builds the Eclipse's outer shell from 1680-denier ballistic nylon. We then add an inner bladder constructed from the same puncture-resistant 400-denier Nylon inner-bladder material used in the Explorer. In other words, the Eclipse is a low profile, exploration-grade wing that leaves all other single tank designs in its shadow. Streamlined. Ruggedized. Another example of Halcyon taking the game to the next level.

 

The Eclipse wings have a long, narrow, wing profile to support the diver's tank along his or her entire length, preventing unnecessary drag and minimizing effort. A circular zipper around the inside of the wing allows for easy inspection and replacement of the interior bladder.

A choice of lift capacities helps to maximize comfort and streamlining while accounting for various buoyancy requirements that result from differences in tank size, exposure protection, or equipment requirements.

Eclipse wings are available in 30 and 40 lbs lift capacities. All Eclipse wings are CE-certified for sale in the European Community.

After reading an Internet discussion thread about wing design I very recently purchased a 27 lb. Pioneer wing from Halcyon.

It is by far the BEST BC I have ever used. I teach openwater and I own a Tech BC from Zeagle-- it has a much higher price tag and is truly a piece of garbage. THANK YOU for producing equipment that actually works.

I also had no problem remaining head up on the surface-- I did not have to fin at all. The backplate/27# wing combo also has a near perfect horizontal trim while swimming and while stopped to work with my class.

My hat is off to you for this system!!!!! .

DIR Tip 60
Good trim is a hallmark of DIR diving. Avoid finning techniques that direct propulsion downward, and thus propel your body at an inclined angle through the water. Divers who fin in this manner will notice that when they stop kicking, they have to add gas to their BC to keep from sinking. When they begin kicking again, they will then need to dump air to keep from becoming positively buoyant. Instead, develop good finning techniques to keep your body horizontal in the water column.
