Halcyon Surf Shuttle

The Surf Shuttle provides an essential margin of safety for the diver facing a long wait at the surface prior to boat pickup, or even a long swim to shore in warm water. The Surf Shuttle and the Diver's Life Raft are essential gear for any diver who may be stranded on the surface after a dive.

  • Four feet long with 30 pound lift capacity
  • Perfect for divemasters or instructors working with novice divers
  • Redundant flotation at depth or on the surface
  • Can be sent up from a line spool or reel as a position marker, and with a note in its message holder
  • Bright orange color provides maximum visibility for boat or airborne traffic Surf Shuttle
  • Stores neatly in the MC Storage Pak or thigh pocket
  • Solid stainless steel hardware

DIR Tip 8
Gauges are necessary to the DIR kit, but divers need to resist the temptation of the "more is better" sales pitch. Two timing devices should be more than sufficient for anybody’s needs. These devices should be wrist-mounted to prevent bulky consoles and the resulting dredging effect they create.

The single pressure gauge is all that should be connected to the regulator’s first stage. It should be free from a bulky console and mounted in a clean area. A pressure gauge with a proper length hose that is clipped to the belt keeps the chest free from clutter and limits the items that will potentially drag in the mud.
