What do I do if my light floods?

Halcyon has spent years refining its lighting systems to make them as rugged as possible. Despite our best efforts, light cords can be smashed by rolling tanks and O-rings can be damaged. Regardless of the cause, a flooded light can create great anxiety. Our Tech Services experts have assembled a list of instructions outlining the management of a flooded light. Please see the following suggestions and contact a Halcyon staff member if you have any questions.
  • Remove the battery from the canister and dry it as much as possible.
  • Even if the flood was in salt water, do not rinse off any component with fresh water—it will only cause further damage.
  • Remove the bulb and gently towel dry.
  • Dry the underside of the lid.
  • With the 10-watt HID, remove the front glass lens and the bulb and dry all external surfaces.
  • Dry off the inside of the canister.
  • Do not disassemble the unit other than the bulb removal.
  • Keep the battery separate from the rest of the components—specifically with saltwater damage, do not put a previously flooded battery into the canister and latch the lid.

Return all components (including charger) to your Halcyon dealer for repair. If you do not have a local dealer, you can contact Halcyon’s tech services department directly via email for instructions on returning the light to the factory.
