Details on our Annual Service
Battery Test: Our specially constructed resistor mirrors the draw of your individual light head, reporting burn time information through customized software. A printed graph shows the battery’s capacity in amp hours, the amount of time in which the battery burned, and the amperage (current) used to test the battery. We will provide a detailed report of your batteries performance and can make recommendations on battery life as needed.
Bulb Inspection: We perform a thorough visual inspection of the bulb and socket, evaluating the quality of the bulb, the ease of ignition and the luminescence of the light output. This test allows us to determine the health of your bulb and the potential for near term replacement. Our inspection also includes an ignition test designed to identify and resolve any sporadic ignition problems.
Canister Inspection: Our experienced Technicians will visually inspect the canister and sealing surface to identify potential leak points; our 25 in./Hg vacuum test can identify problem areas as well as small leaks that might be developing.
Pressure Test: We place your light in a specially designed pressure vessel, testing it to 300 feet (90 meters). During this 30 minute simulated dive we slowly pressurize and depressurizing the vessel in order to simulate the decent and ascent profiles during real live diving. This flexibility is especially important as certain problems are more likely in shallow water where there is less pressure on the o-ring seal. Other problems are more likely in deeper water. Halcyon is the only lighting company to perform this test on every light it produces. Now this vital test can be part of your regular light service.
